Pavia!

Here we are few days in Pavia keeping company to nonnaLu in her knee recovery effort at Santa Margherita

on the way to the facility from home, the walk is pretty funny, in which via do these people leave?

nonnoCla has a legendary red rope

and a legendary freshly made pelata

 everyone wants to touch it

nonnoCla trying to explain to Alyssa (with his broken English...) that this plate, from Varsavia (the capital of Poland)

represents her ancestors (Alyssa's last name is Stapinski), so it reminds him of her. Not entirely sure Alyssa got that, but that was the idea...

always fantastic being at Moto with old friends

the traditional tennis game with Miki, alla Cano

Gio and the voice of innocence: papi, come andata la partita col Teo? "Pari, 2-2". "Ma papi, non esiste il pareggio nel tennis, come mai avete smesso?".

"Eh, al papi faceva male un ginocchio...". "Ah papi, allora non e' finita 2-2, hai perso a tavolino!!"

Gio, sei pronto alla nuotata? Try with your mouse

Il Cupolone never disappoints: risotto alla bonarda was top!

the kids watching Flashdance for the first time, the famous movie from the early 80s

the movie was emotional for nonnoCla, but funny for the kids. Interesting how different generations react

 Nic with nonnaLu's rope: chilling

big news from Paolotto, he just received an e-mail from UCSC (University of California Santa Cruz) that he was admitted starting from January

he was waitlisted, and usually the probability of being admitted from waitlist is below 5%...so it took a lot of work from nonnaLu's santini!

papaTeo and mammaVale with a fun reunion with old engineering school mates

Gigi is a big story teller

Enrico is always the same, showing up with Rinaldo's retirement shirt

Padel is becoming the hangout place: can you believe that Teo leaves in California, Claudio in Brazil, and they randomly meet in Pavia?

the new Padel facility in Pavia

is designed by renown architect Paolo Cocilovo

Padel is a difficult game, very counterintuitive if you played tennis before...to start with the racket is shorter, so the smashes are very tricky

papaTeo takes lots of advice from Guidone and Majo, but has a long way to go to automate the advice

very fun afternoon, unfortunately Alyssa bumps his cheek on the glass, did not have her beautiful smile for few hours, but she'll be OK

what is papaTeo doing now, with this impressive horse?

the traditional bike ride with Giulio, this time around Ticino

 very small hills

 and beautiful green rice fields

il ponte della Barche a Bereguardo

followed by a lovely dinner at the Perotti's attic

 with Paolotto and mammaVale joining

 Campari appetizer, delicious: cheers

 Giulio's ombrina

the ombrina is common in the Mediterranean, is a sedentary fish that live on sandy bottoms, muddy and full of algae near the coast

it's not a tennis game, or maybe it is: Giulio vs le zanzare

Cami takes care of the west side

a little anguria to finish: in the old times, Giulio and Teo used to eat a whole anguria to finish the day (and then pee the whole night :-)...)

some gelato from mammaVale to finish, and lovely conversation with Chiara and Camilla

grazie Perotti, to the next time, maybe in the US!

oh oh, mammaVale is trying to park, papaTeo heard a huge 'grattata' with the reverse gear: "Teo, parcheggi tu?"

where is mammaVale now, in this historical site?

a lunch with Ale (where papaTeo tries prof Greco glasses)

 very nice conversation and food

then a quick visit to Beppe and Sara, who used to live in California, and live in a beautiful house in Pavia now, working from home

another movie for the kids: Lamborghini story, was that inspired by the Lamborghini boat we saw in Antibes?

Gio and Nic baby sit Pietro Brunati for few hours, before everyone joins...

...the second edition of the Cookie Snack Cup, with a growing number of participants, 27 in this year's picture!

time so say goodbye to nonnaLu, have a  great recovery nonna, and come back stronger!
